Business Values

Muslims are blessed to be part of a global community offering a rich array of goods from across the world. However, much of the Islamic gift market has become crowded with cheap, mass-produced consumer products. My business concept arose out of a need for more gifting options for conscientious Muslims. As an environmental justice advocate, I wanted my small business to be built on ihsan (excellence in belief and action), and aligned with the Prophetic way of life ﷺ.

The value of a premium gift box comes not only from its contents and presentation, but also from its origins. Many hours of work are put into curating, sourcing, assembling, and building a story around, the items in your gift box. Each of its components is linked to a greater social and environmental impact. I bear this in mind with each step of the process. My values include: 

Eco-conscious Decision Making

Put simply, an eco-centric approach means supporting the rights of nature and Indigenous communities, while understanding the interconnectedness of all things.🌿

Eco-conscious decision-making benefits ecosystems, including human communities, by reducing waste and spending, and encouraging healthy commerce and sustainable practices.

Quality Control

My intention is to ensure that the brands/items inside your gift box have at least one or more of the following characteristics:

  • Fair trade (meaning producers have a fair share)
  • Ethically sourced (if natural resources are extracted, such as wood, oil, etc.)
  • Cruelty-free
  • Locally made
  • Muslim-owned
  • Certified Organic

Responsible Practices

Even small responsible choices are impactful, because it's what most of us face in our day-to-day lives. When possible, I implement environmentally and socially responsible practices such as:

  • Reducing shipping distances by seeking out local merchants, markets and clients
  • Packing your items in a gift box made of recycled/reusable materials
  • Reusing shipping materials
  • Minimizing single-use plastics
  • Minimizing business with conglomerates
  • Participation in the BDS movement
